Make Room for the Oops...

This month has been so full of precious teachable moments...I find myself in these moments all the time...carpool line, disney on ice, you name it, these little ones (and the ones stewarding these gifts) have so much to learn.  Now the oops...
They happen a lot around here.  And today was no different.  It's Fall Break, I'm sure everyone reading this knows, too bad the person writing this thought school started back today-OOPS.
Poor Madden was dressed and so ready to go, Clay took her to school and they were the only people there.
Well her heart was broken, Ms. Graham wasn't there, Ms. Allen wasn't there, and Momma "none of my friends were there"....and now I have to stay "here".  My heart sank.  Her hopes were up and now she was disappointed, I had messed up...again.
Bless her heart and praise God at the same time that she loves her school...this however, was a teachable moment, I had to explain for the 106569th time..Momma makes mistakes, Momma definitely forgets things and mixes things up but God is in charge of us.  God will navigate our day and we will have to make the best of things...we prayed that our day would get better and that Madden would forgive momma and make the best of the day...I think we need to get used to this scenario around here....
BUT if you see me feel free to remind me of anything and everything that comes to mind!
On to our next OOPs...Im sure it will be sooner than later for some reason almost everything seems to involve a plan B.

our friend Adam's birthday dinner

Hopefully he will forgive me for blindsiding him, that cake was yummy!

I know I share this last year, but what a great way to teach our friends when we carve our real pumpkin (Sorry Jack)....

Dear Lord,

Open my mind so I can learn about You;
(Cut the top of the pumpkin)

Take away all my sin and forgive me for the wrong things I do.
(Clean out the inside)

Open my eyes so Your love I will see;
(Cut the eyes out in heart shapes)

I'm so sorry for turning up my nose to all you've given me.
(Cut a nose in the shape of a cross)

Open my ears so your word I will hear.
(Cut the ears shaped like the Bible)-we did rectangles

Open my mouth so I can tell others You're near
(cut the mouth in the shape of a fish)

Let Your light shine in all I say and do! Amen.
(Place a candle inside and light it)

What a special way to start Fall!
